City Walk Amsterdam
Wat What do you need to see in Amsterdam?
This is the most frequently asked question by visitors. And that is precisely why this walking tour shows you the highligths of the old city center. With fun stories about how the city was founded along the Amstel, which outstanding figures played a leading role in the free character of the city and, of course, the most iconic places you must have seen. From history to fun facts and how things are now.
Together with the guide you will discover Amsterdam from a different angle and find your way around! You even feel like a ‘local’ with all this knowledge in your pocket, you might even fall in love.

What will we see and here?
The routing is personal for each guide, but we pass the most important sites of the old city with each tour.
The tour starts with getting introduced to each other. You’ll learn some “Amsterdams” right away, and soon we’ll then start walking through the city.
We get into the shoes of ancient sailors, hear about the famous painter Rembrandt, living and working in the Red Light District, the LGBTQA+ community, the Amsterdam of Now and the historic canals.
Locations on the route: Zeedijk, Chinatown, Nieuwmarkt, Waterlooplein, Munttoren, Bloemenmarkt, Rembrandtplein, the Begijnhof, Spui and Paleis op de Dam.
Along the way we will make a tasty stop in what we call a brown pub, with a small Dutch snack. The guide will be happy to give you suggestions for the rest of your stay, and if you wish, you can (optionally) extend the end of the tour with a visit to Amsterdam’s oldest café for a real head-butt.
Humor, hidden gems and a wealth of knowledge will hopefully make your heart beat even more for our city. See you soon?
